Accumulation and Diffusion of PM from Outdoor to Indoor by Clothing under Haze Conditions: A Case Study of Zhengzhou, China

Clothing can absorb fine particulate pollutants from the atmosphere outdoors and then release them after entering room in a form similar to three-handed smoke. In this study, experimental site Zhengzhou, typical city with heavy pollution central China, was used investigate adsorption diffusion patterns of three different fabrics polyester, polyester-cotton, cotton clothing for particle pollutants, guide people’s behavior indoor air distribution, reduce exposure. The results showed that when garments were exposed moderate PM2.5 1 h, 2 3 respectively, transferred chamber, polyester always released highest concentration during same cycle, followed by polyester-cotton. addition, will be periodically affected adsorbed fabrics. With increase outdoor exposure duration, takes longer stabilize at certain levels is side. Finally, comparison natural ventilation experiments proved it not feasible rely solely on improve influence sources quality.
